So whether you are out for a casual walk, a short hike or a more adventurous outing this presentation could help you prevent serious problems. Topics include how to read trail markings, what you need to be prepared to go out into the woods, and what to do if you do get disoriented or lost. Digital Photography – The absolute basics  (New for 2010)
The average person just wants to take a few pictures of family, friends and places. For a group of these friendly people we agreed to put together a Powerpoint program that meets their basic needs and demystifies this new “digital” age of cameras.  It covers everything from what is a pixel, to which lenses you might need for your camera. We even tell you how to share your photos with friends and relatives from your camera, your computer or via the Internet. It’s all very basic. After this basic class, if you want more you can go to more advanced “photography” classes and not look like a complete dummy. J You provide the venue and group and we will provide the laptop and Powerpoint presentation.  Call or e-mail to discuss or schedule. 386-956-6089 or Roger@RogerFulton.com.

Bicycle Trails of the Lake George Region
Roger, bike, fountain.JPGLocal bike trails link Fort Edward, Hudson Falls, Glens Falls and Lake George, but you have to know where they are and how to access them.  There are many other  locations where you can get out on bikes and enjoy the great outdoors in our area. That’s why outdoor writers Roger Fulton and Mike Carpenter decided to include these great trails in their new book, 25 Interesting Bicycle Trails in the Lake George, NY Region. They have included both on and off road trails in their book, from Exit 18 to Ticonderoga, and east to the NY/Vermont border. They have also developed a Powerpoint presentation of their findings on where to go and how to get there. It’s a “Bicycling 101” class for the Lake George Region.

Hadley_Mtn_Flower_MVC-704SIn Search of Spring Wildflowers - Lake George, NY Region
Roger Fulton, noted Common Man Book author and outdoorsman, and Diane Collins, a local wildflower photographer, have teamed up to write a spring wildflower book for the Lake George Region. Their unique approach includes GPS readings to help you locate interesting spring wildflowers along ten trails in the Lake George Region. In this Powerpoint presentation they present highlights of what they found in their research, and will tell you where to go to explore the ever-changing world of this region’s most interesting  spring wildflowers. You may not get both authors at your presentation, but you will most surely get one with a wealth of information and guidance in this ‘fun’ and informative presentation. And, be sure to watch for their future book on the rash of summer wildflowers, sure to follow by July.

We’ll cover famous people from Glens Falls, as well as interesting stories about the people and places you will visit. The tour is available for ages 12 and older. After dinner tours are our specialty so you can walk off those extra calories. The tours cover about 1 mile over 90 minutes.

We also have developed a 60 minute “virtual tour” of the same walking tour. You can stay warm and dry and still learn about this great small city known as “Hometown, U.S.A., in the comfort of a hotel meeting or conference room though our graphic Powerpoint presentation. The costs remain the same. It’s a great recruiting tool for area businesses or tourism groups.

The French and Indian War – The Basics
                                    By: Roger Fulton

Roger Fulton Author and historian Roger Fulton has found that few people remember many of the details about the French and Indian War. Fought primarily in the Lake George area during the 1750’s, this war was a major factor in deciding our heritage, the formation of the United States and who we are today. In a slide presentation he will cover the basics of the war from who was fighting and why, to the major battles, their armaments and their methods of travel and attack. Dressed in 1750’s attire, he will also describe what life was like for the Common Man in that era. At the end, he’ll tell you who won the war! (In case you can’t remember.)

300 Miles of History – The French and Indian War Water Routes
                                                With Roger Fulton

Common Man Tour 2007 In the summer of 2007 author and historian Roger Fulton traveled nearly 300 miles by canoe from Albany to Lake Ontario, retracing the water routes of the French and Indian War of the 1750’s. Dressed in 1750’s attire, as he was on his journey, he will present a Powerpoint slide presentation of his trip and what he found along the way. His accounts of traveling up the Hudson River, down the St. Lawrence River and his travels on Lake George and Lake Champlain are all interesting and entertaining.

Costa Rican Adventures
                        With Roger Fulton

VulcanoRoger Fulton has been to Costa Rica several times to mountainbike, whitewater raft, hike and to just enjoy the great scenery of this interesting Central American country. In a Powerpoint slide presentation he will share some of his adventures and experiences with you. Photos in the presentation include the moods of Costa Rica, local culture, activities and the flora and fauna of the region. Enjoy colorful butterflies and interesting birds as well as photos of other interesting wildlife, including the elusive two-toed sloth. It’s all for a fun time and the sharing of this wonderful country with you. The presentation isn’t quite as good as being there, but the price is much better.

The Battle of Cranberry Creek in the War of 1812
Cannon Fought near Alexandria Bay, NY in July of 1813, an American force of only 50 American soldiers and militia had repelled an attack by 250 British attackers. The story of the battle and the Americans killed in the attack were nearly lost to history due to neglect. In 1999 a local 12 year old boy led us to three polished granite markers in an overgrown field on the shore of Cranberry Creek. A summer of research revealed that those granite markers had been placed there by the Daughters of the American Revolution as a memorial to the brave American soldiers who died on American soil, defending against their British enemies in 1813.In 1999 they were "repatriated" and a permanent memorial has been erected to secure the remembrance of their sacrifices. The story of the battle and the soldiers' repatriation is presented by Roger Fulton in this interesting Powerpoint slide presentation.

Getting Published, with Roger Fulton
Your 5th grade teacher taught you how to write. And now, after a lifetime of experience, you actually have something to write about other than your summer vacation. But how do you get your poetry, a magazine article, a book or novel published? Roger Fulton had his first non-fiction book published in 1988. Since then he has had 20+ books published, more than 100 articles and columns, and a whole bunch of shorter pieces published. This 60-90 minute Powerpoint presentation presents the basics of how to get your work published. As a bonus, he will reveal the 4 secrets to getting published as handed down from generation to generation of writers. It’s similar to how magicians hand down tricks to the next generation.
